Art & About Sydney 2013
Alphabet Studio’s witty Airing Our Dirty Laundry was the selected creative for 2013’s theme, Private Lives, Public Places.
1. Developed a visual system for both Creative City and Art & About.
2. Designed a total of 77 pieces of artworks, including large-scaled items, such as JCDecaux Citylights, street banner, bus poster and exhibition signage; small-scaled items including a 60-page festival program, invitation, Avant Card, TVC frames and press ads.
Art & About Sydney is part of Creative City Sydney, an umbrella brand that covers all City of Sydney’s arts and culture sub-brands. Before Creative City Sydney was launched, I was involved in the brand and advertising design development, including creating brand device, typographic style and marketing collateral.
The Art & About Sydney 2013 design was a development of the Creative City Sydney brand: how the minimalist design of Creative City Sydney can be applied to the collateral that carries more complex information. This later development creates a consistent, flexible visual system for not only Art & About Sydney, but also other Creative City sub-brands.

Creative
Alphabet Studio’s Airing Our Dirty Laundry was an engaging, humorous storytelling piece. Consisted of 15 images featuring different garments and messages, it lent itself great flexibility to be used across different media.
The creative was consistently applied, with the Art & About brand, to collateral including JCDecaux Citylights, bus poster, press ads, digital ads and festival program.
Note: Art & About Sydney is copyrighted and owned by ©City of Sydney. I was responsible for the design under the direction of Design Manager, Steve Howlett. Hero creative, Airing Our Dirty Laundry is created by Alphabet Studio.
